Natural Diamond SGL Report
The SGL Diamond Certificate provides a reliable and accurate documentation of a diamond’s identity and grade based on the internationally recognized diamond grading system. Using state-of-the-art equipment, each diamond is analyzed by several gemologists in order to provide the most accurate description of the diamond’s quality and characteristics.
the laboratory offers Full and Mini Diamond Grading reports verifiable online. Each SGL Diamond Grading Report contains the diamond’s information, as graded by the laboratory’s gemologists. The information includes the stone’s report number, shape and cutting style, measurements , weight (carats), cut grade, color grade, clarity grade, fluorescence, a proportions scheme diagram of the gem and a plotting diagram mapping the inclusions within the gem, screens every diamond using state of the art technologies to determine naturally mined, laboratory grown or simulant origin. Experienced graduate gemologists conduct further assessment in controlled conditions, detailing relevant gemological characteristics according to the strictest international system.
In addition, all diamonds received by the SGL laboratory for grading and were identified as of synthetic origin, and/or to have undergone color and/or clarity enhancements, are automatically labeled with a proper disclosure in the report. Thus our customers are always assured that all the necessary diamond’s information has been disclosed.
diamonds should only change hands when accompanied by a certificate attesting to quality. Regardless of location or marketplace, an authentic SGL Laboratory Report is the common language of trust and confidence in the gemological world.

FAQ
It is essential for each diamond proprietor to know the credentials of their diamond in order to obtain confidence and assurance of the integrity of what they have acquired. An SGL Diamond or Gemstone Certificate is a statement issued by one of our independent gemological laboratories documenting the characteristics of the stone as determined by our experienced diamond graders at the time of evaluation.
Hearts and Arrows Diamonds are precision cut variations of the traditional 57 faceted round brilliant cut. They are cut to “ideal proportions” with superior optical symmetry and a specific faceting pattern. When all these factors are in harmony the result is a repeatable, near perfect pattern of eight symmetrical arrows in the face up position and eight symmetrical hearts when viewed in the table down position.
As you research diamonds, you may have seen information about lab created diamonds versus naturally formed diamonds. Some people may refer to lab created diamonds as “fake diamonds”, imitations or simulants, but this is incorrect. Lab created diamonds share the same or similar chemical and physical properties as a natural diamond produced by the geological processes of Mother Nature. However, because of the contrasting conditions of natural and lab grown formation, lab grown diamonds display several features which allow them to be gemologically distinguished from natural diamonds. On the other hand, cubic zirconia and moissanite—which can look like diamonds—have very different chemical and physical properties and are known as simulant diamonds.
